Installation steps
PLEASE follow all of these instructions for your game version. Parts of the skin will be glitched if you do not apply all of these settings.
TRNG: To set up Lara's braid:
- Enable "Lara's Ponytail Position Changer" patch in FLEP. Change the Adult Lara's XYZ values to the following: X=0, Y=-19, Z=-56
- Enable "Disable Hair Skinning" patch. This step is critical!
TRNG: To correct the gun flash color:
Enable "GFX1 Customizer" patch in FLEP. Choose the "Colours - Gunflash Blend Colour (RGB)" option and set the following value: 255,255,255
TEN: To set Lara's braid position:
Use the TombIDE Script editor to open Settings.lua. Copy and paste this line over the existing Hair 1 offset: settings.Hair[1].offset = Vec3(0, -19, -56)
TEN: To set the gunflash position:
Use the TombIDE Script editor to open Settings.lua. Copy this new line and paste it at the bottom of the PISTOL weapon settings: settings.Weapons[WeaponType.PISTOLS].muzzleOffset = Vec3(-8,58,42)
Applying the TR3 Home recolor
To apply the TR3 Home outfit colors to the Nevada skin:
- Open WadTool and load the Nevada skin wad (or your project wad containing the Nevada skin) as the destination file.
- Click the arrow next to "Moveables" to expand the list. Right-click on LARA_SKIN and choose "Edit meshes..."
- From the Mesh Editor, locate the texturing panel on the right side of the window. Click the dropdown arrow and select "colorpalette_nev.psd". Then click the circular arrows icon to the right, and choose "Replace with external texture".
- Find the "colorpalette_home.psd" and double-click it. (Files are in the "Recolors" folder)
- WadTool will warn you about making this change. Click "Yes" to continue.
- Click the "OK" button in the bottom right corner of the Mesh Editor to close and save changes.
- From the main WadTool window, save your Wad2.
NOTE: After clicking yes, you may notice the textures in mesh preview window have changed, but the image file in the texturing panel stays the same. Don't worry, the texture file has updated. Reopening the Mesh Editor will show the updated texture file.
Notes
Please note this skin is not compatible with vanilla TR4 out of the box; TRNG is required. Truthfully these skins works fine in TR4, but Lara's braid is glitched without hair skinning disabled. Since I haven't created a workaround for this, the skins are considered TRNG/TEN only.
These are blocky, unjointed outfits. There's two reasons for this- 1) stylistically I think the unjointed look compliments the retro style of the skins, and 2) the flat shaded effect cannot work on skin joint meshes anyway lol
